How To Mark Your Brushes November 4, 2009
My Sigma Brushes got here on Friday and since I’m sick today, I thought it’d be the perfect chance to talk about how I marked them.
I like to think of myself as a bit of an individualist *cough* so black handles were obviously not good enough! My mom used to be very into art and she has a huge collection of acrylics, I looked around and decided: taadaaa, my brush handle ends are going to be gold and pink.

Pink and Gold
You pour some paint into a cup (I used actual pure gold from FolkArt) and dip. Roll them between your hands for even colour during the initial drying time.

Coastal Scents/Zoeva Palette October 27, 2009
Hello Everyone!

Look at those gorgeous colours!
I just got the 88 shimmer palette and the 88 normal palette in the mail from Zoeva, which is a German site that sells the same palettes as Coastal Scents does. I haven’t used them yet, because I want to wait for my Too Faced Shadow Insurance (so hard to find in Germany) and Sigma brush kit to get here first. None the less, I am pretty excited, since this is the first time that I’ve had more than 6 colours to work with, so I’ll get to see if knowing the theories behind blending and colour combining will help me with doing the actual work!
Also, the MAC Mineralize Natural Powder got a big thumbs up from my mom. People, that is a huge deal. She said that she thinks it look better and more natural than my old Benefit Get Even. That’s coming from someone who doesn’t care about make-up and tends to be brutally honest!
I have to get back to studying for my math test!
Have a lovely Tuesday,

Actual Thoughts on Yesterday’s Products October 22, 2009
Hallo! Hello! ¡Holla! Salut!
First off, let me go, “ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!“
Thanks.
Alright, I’ve been looking for an internship for a very long time now. Close to a year. I went to MAC, tried places I knew I wouldn’t like working, phoned different TV shows, emailed individual Make-Up Artists.
and all the while, my number one place seemed too out of reach. So, now my dead-line was two weeks ago and I decided to just shoot for the stars, and emailed Cologne’s best school for Make-Up Artistry about said internship. I went upstairs, had some lunch, came back downstairs, and almost screamed. They had already written back and just asked me to mail over my résumé. I spend all day polishing it up, send it out at exactly 8 PM (for good luck) and now I’m praying they still want me!
Keep your fingers crossed for me!

So, on to what this post was actually meant to be about, MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (I have it in light medium) and their eyelash curler.
I used both for the first time this morning and I gotta say, I’m really impressed by the powder! I had Benefit’s Get Even before and I did like it, but I started noticing that it had a tendency to look a bit too cakey. The MAC looks really natural, goes on wonderfully, hasn’t made my skin feel tingly so far. all in all, a really, really lovely product.
I wasn’t has impressed by the eyelash curler, which might just be because this was the first time I’ve used one. I’m sure it’ll get better. There was a difference, but it wasn’t anything that’d make it my new number one product, but…we’ll see!

MAC “Haul” October 22, 2009
♥ Shopping time, lalalala, the best of times…lalalala… ♥
Let me start of by saying that I don’t own a lot of MAC (short for “Make-Up Art Cosmetics” and not “Make-Up Artists Company” as I’d always thought), which is mainly because MAC is extremely, extremely expensive in Germany. I think me going to NYC for a weekend to shop for MAC would actually be a good thing, since the price difference would pay for my ticket.
So, that’s why when I do purchase something it’s always special to me. People have compared it to a religious experience, I won’t go quite that far, but it does feel like a very, very “high on happiness” thing. In total I own two eye shadows (would never dream of buying them in the little pot): Shroom and Charcoal Brown, which are great basics that get me through every school day without much fuss*.
Today I decided on two new purchases.
1) Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (light medium)
2) The fabulous MAC eyelash curler.
Am I happy? You bet! More on that tomorrow, when I’ve actually done my make-up with it.

Have a fabulous rest of the day!

*Will be a fuss soon since I’ve decided to just put on what I want instead of going my new found, “Be drab, so you won’t be noticed,” because chances are…I’ll be noticed anyway.
Hello world! October 20, 2009
Might this be my first post? More coming soon, give me time to get into the flow!
